Artist Statement:
Bonnie Fortner understands the secret to a successful career: to do what you love and love what you do. This belief has become the mission behind her comprehensive photography studio on Indianapolis' east side. With 37 years of experience in accounting, Fortner left the numbers game and started her second career as a photographer, making a name for herself not only as a featured exhibitor in the Indiana State Fair but attracting clients from the corporate world families and students looking to capture their special moments.
In addition to keeping up with the latest photography software on the market including Adobe and other Windows-based programs, Fortner has extended her education by completing over 100 credit hours in various photography classes through IUPUI's Community Learning Network learning to perfect her technique not only in the art of photography but in restorative and picture enhancement methods as well.
"As a business owner, I have to know how to air brush, tweak lighting and give each and every client the best possible photo for their money," Fortner said. "The key to any good portrait is posing and lighting, but digital enhancements can help make the photo really come alive. I am confident that my business can offer clients the options they want at a price they can afford."
As an expert in photo restoration, Fortner can help her clients save precious family heirlooms. She can bring back to life many photos that have been damaged by water, fire or merely time, not to mention remove blemishes or tweak physical attribute in order to make a picture look its best. Fortner also spends a lot of time working on her own gallery of images including her latest body of work "Flower Power".
"These images are really special to me," Fortner said. "I worked with several gardeners and searched out the cream of the crop for this gallery. From Bearded Irises to stunning roses, the colors come alive and will mesmerize any photography enthusiast."
